ForWord Consulting
We love working with students and families and we thrive on their successes. Apparently they like us too. Here's what people are saying about ForWord College Consultants and College Coaches.
Without ForWord, I wouldn't be going to college at all.
--Sam R. There was so much I never knew. She held our hand through the process, eased our worries, and got our daughter in to her first choice school--with scholarships to boot!
--A Grateful Northern Virginia Parent Received an ENORMOUS folder from University of Southern California in the mail today. Acceptance letters and finalist for Presidential Scholarship! I get to fly out to LA!
--Anna K. I've known Catherine for many years. In my current professional life, I tutor local expat students in English literature, helping them prepare for college entrance exams such as the OIB and A-Levels. This year, I had to assist some of them with their US Common Application.
Catherine has been an excellent resource. She was generous with her time and expertise, providing me with specific, practical suggestions as to I might best help my students improve their chances to attend their chosen college. Navigating the Common Application process is not easy for a non-native English speaker. Cathy's assistance has helped me get my students ahead of the curve! --Overseas College Counselor Cathy has provided invaluable advice and guidance in preparing our daughter for the college application process. We started meeting with Cathy when Elizabeth was a sophomore. Cathy has been involved in helping her select courses for both her junior and senior years to showcase her strengths and maximize the impact on her transcript. Through Cathy’s guidance, we enrolled Elizabeth in a great test prep program that resulted in impressive scores on both her SAT and ACT.
Most impressive is the way Cathy interacts with our daughter. Cathy has been instrumental in helping Elizabeth recognize that this is her future and as such, she has to own the process. When applying for internships this summer, Elizabeth merely had to pull up her well documented resume, created with Cathy’s help and send it on its way. We are heading into the final stretch, with plans to get all applications done this summer. There is no one we would rather have guiding us than Cathy and we look forward working with her for many years to come with our sons. --Elizabeth A's parents |
Our experience with Cathy Ganley and Forword Consulting was excellent. Cathy was an invaluable resource in navigating the entire process. She helped us figure out the best time to apply to a particular school; whether or not to apply early action or early decision; assisted with topic development and editing of both the Common App and supplemental essays and finally provided advice on how to secure the best scholarship.
My daughter is an excellent student and writer, but Cathy provided the expertise to assist my daughter in focusing her writing to not only sell her abilities, but give the school what they were really looking for in an essay. Cathy’s ability to work with my daughter on the timeline of the whole process moderated the stress of the actual application process. My daughter applied to 19 schools (due to the selective nature of the programs she was applying to) and completely finished all of her applications by early September. This allowed her to focus on her studies and performance commitments during the fall when all of her friends were just starting the process. Cathy’s assistance also helped the parent/child relationship as it allowed all of us to remove ourselves from the actual application process and enjoy our daughter’s last year at home. I would recommend Cathy Ganley to anyone looking for college admissions expertise and I look forward to having her work with our son starting this spring. --Lynne L of Great Falls The beauty of working with Cathy is that she took the time to really listen and got to know my daughter quite well.
That was beneficial on so many levels: my daughter was happy to meet with Cathy for scheduled appointments, she was not stressed about working on the essays, and Cathy was able to pull out information from my daughter that she would not have been able to if she had not put in the the effort to get to know Maddy. We felt supported throughout the entire process. It was easy to shoot Cathy an email or text or even a phone call with a quick question or comment. Cathy ALWAYS got right back to us, even if she wanted to do some research on the topic first. Finally, Cathy was almost as excited as my daughter when she got accepted to her top schools. She went out of her way to call Maddy every time and congratulate her. --Maddy P.'s Parents |
